Henry County Hands Down Indictments

Martinsville/Henry County, VA – More than 50 people were named in 129 indictments released Tuesday by a Henry County grand jury.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt. It is a grand jury’s finding that enough evidence exists to warrant a trial.

Those named included:

• Jerri Jean Dehart, 43, 69 Gretchen Trail, Ridgeway, assault and batter a police officer, July 16.

• William Paredes, 23, 188 Bunk Creek Drive, Ridgeway, eluding police by endangerment with speed 20 mph or more over limit, Sept. 2.

• Argyro Newman Lester, 28, 206 Wheeler Ave., Collinsville, permit serious injury to child, between Sept. 1, 2012, and June 11, 2013.

• Jillian Elizabeth Smith, 20, 309 Baronwood Road, Martinsville, one count each forgery and utter a forged check, Aug. 14.

• Garrett Leon Dukes, 47, 6368 Wedgeview Court, Tucker, Ga., malicious wounding, Aug. 26.

• Beverly Annette Craig, 50, 207 Figsboro Heights Road, Martinsville, two counts embezzlement (grand larceny), between Oct. 3, 2012, and Aug. 6, 2013.

• James Paul Trent, 25, 279 Delta Drive, Bassett, grand larceny of vehicle, Aug. 18.

• Conley James Dowell, 34, 223 Rives Road, Martinsville, one count each grand larceny, grand larceny — firearm and statutory burglary of dwelling — enter at night to commit larceny, between May 28 and June 16.

• William Leslie Perdue III, 23, 46 Joey Court, Bassett, one count each grand larceny and statutory burglary of dwelling to commit larceny, Aug. 27.

• Kelsey Patrice Wade, 25, 404 First St., Martinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting), Oct. 3.

• Kimberly Lynn Key, 39, 5599 Fairystone Park Highway, Bassett, felonious violation of the habitual offender act (second or subsequent offense), Sept. 8.

• Makaai Alice Hairston, 30, 1917 Carver Road, Martinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting), July 11.

• John Lincoln Turner, 26, 448 Sanville Heights Road, Bassett, grand larceny, Oct. 24.

• Melanie Nicole Hairston, 40, 733 Smith St., Martinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting), Sept. 1.

• Joseph Brent Niblett, 40, 3378 Sunset Drive, Collinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting), Sept. 10.

• Trina Dove Shell, 37, 214 Hedgecock Ave., Winston-Salem, N.C., felony shoplifting (grand larceny), Sept. 7.

• Larry Carthell Young, 54, 372 Trott Circle, Martinsville, third offense larceny, Aug. 7.

• Robert Grant Harris, 20, 70 Molly Circle, Martinsville, 28 counts possession of child pornography, Jan. 16-March 20.

• Timothy Michael Clark Jr., 28, 291 Main St., Ridgeway, one count each maliciously shoot at or within an occupied dwelling, strangulation and reckless handling of a firearm, Aug. 31.

• Shantez Teyon Hairston, 18, 1556 Stultz Road, Martinsville, malicious wounding of family/household member, Sept. 30.

• Joshua Wayne Robinette, 20, 4262 Morgan Ford Road, Ridgeway, endanger the life of a child, Oct. 5.

• Wanda Vaden Annis, 60, 2515 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway, two counts attempted malicious wounding and one count each malicious wounding and use of firearm in commission of a felony, Aug. 9.

• Arturo Vargas Perez, 55, 10640 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C., bestiality, Oct. 20.

• Elquinto Delano Jamie Arnold, 25, 211 Brass Shop Road, Ridgeway, felony property damage — intentional, Sept. 10.

• Terry Lewis Dillard, 49, 21 Washington Road, Martinsville, unlawful wounding, Oct. 20.

• Bonnie Rae Swinney, 18, 68 Chadmore Drive, Fieldale, felony shoplifting (grand larceny), Sept. 11.

• James Dakota Tolliver, 66, 904 Palace Court, Martinsville, malicious wounding, Oct. 8.

• Katherine Cardwell Vipperman, 44, 77 Shady Rest Court, Ridgeway, felony shoplifting (grand larceny), Sept. 14.

• Shannon Odell Bradbury, 36, 202 Plaster Lane, Patrick Springs, felony shoplifting (grand larceny), Sept. 13.

• Michael Antonio Lightfoot, 25, 145 J S Holland Road, Ridgeway, third offense larceny (shoplifting), Oct. 21.

• Michael H.D. Wright, 23, 15 Betty’s Lane, Martinsville, possession of firearm by felon convicted within 10 years, Oct. 8.

• Peadro Diene Cabiness, 40, 97 Surry Court, Martinsville, one count each possession of firearm by felon convicted within 10 years and possess marijuana, Oct. 2.

• Patricia Dawn Campbell, 39, 811 Highland Ridge Road, Martinsville, three counts grand larceny and three counts larceny with intent to sell or distribute, June 1-Oct. 29.

• Brian Reese Cochran, 33, 531 Figsboro Road, Martinsville, threaten to bomb, burn, destroy or damage structure, Sept. 27.

• William Lee Conner Jr., 20, 339 Fontaine Drive, Martinsville, malicious wounding, Oct. 11.

• Rebecca Anne Kenney, 30, 714 Barrows Mill Road, Martinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting), Oct. 15.

• Ronald Lee Young Jr., 42, 901 Philpott Highway, Henry, one count each forgery, third offense obtaining money or property by false pretense, utter a forged check, felonious violation of the habitual offender act (second or subsequent offense) and expired inspection sticker, Oct. 26-Dec. 9.

• Anthony Sean Artis, 29, 3204 Wentworth St., Reidsville, N.C., one count each carjacking, use of firearm in commission of a felony and wounding during commission of felony, Oct. 22.

• Travis Lee Bryant, 33, 4510 County Line Road, Patrick Springs, one count each possess methamphetamine and possess schedule III controlled substance, June 22-23.

• Sophia Maria Calloway, 52, 72 Tulane Drive, Bassett, possess cocaine, Aug. 3.

• Emily Ann Church, 18, 568 Grand Lake Drive, Ridgeway, two counts possess schedule IV controlled substance and one count each possess methamphetamine and possess marijuana, April 4.

• Alonzo Tyrone Clark, 41, 621 Church St., Eden, N.C., one count each carjacking, use of firearm in commission of felony and wounding during commission of felony, Oct. 22.

• Gary Thomas Davis Jr., 43, 585 Mica Road, Ridgeway, possess methamphetamine, March 13.

• Carolyn Hallman Gonzalez, 57, 2136 E. Stadium Drive, Eden, N.C., possess cocaine, Sept. 5.

• Jimmy Anthony Harris Jr., 24, 7024 Axton Road, Axton, possess cocaine, July 20.

• Charles Larry Helms, 61, 5900 Virginia Ave., Bassett, four counts production of child pornography and four counts possession of child pornography, March 8, 2011.

• Michael Richard Jenkins, 28, 2246 Figsboro Road, Martinsville, one count each possess marijuana and possess cocaine, Sept. 15.

• Joey David Johnson, 32, 224 Fellowship Drive, Martinsville, possess cocaine, June 21.

• Teresa Ann Keffer, 29, 1223 Hodges Farm Road, Martinsville, embezzlement (grand larceny), Sept. 3.

• Alfred Ray Lemons, 57, 308 Figsboro Road, Martinsville, two counts third offense obtaining money or property by false pretense and one count each identity theft – fraud greater than $200, forgery and utter (pass) a forged check, June 18.

• Samantha Sue Moorefield, 27, 67 Long Green Lane, Bassett, one count each forgery and utter a forged check, April 22.

• Christopher James Reynolds, 22, 1135 Fishburn Mountain Road, Rocky Mount, possess schedule III controlled substance, June 10.

• Yvette Jeanene Witt, 41, 13 Sanville Heights, Bassett, one count each fail to stop for stop sign, drive suspended and forge a public document, June 1.

• Chelsea Angelique Jones, 22, 1985 Virginia Ave., Martinsville, embezzlement (grand larceny) Oct. 14-15.

• Kenneth Dwayne Blankenship, 41, 659 Colonial Drive, Collinsville, one count each construction fraud, practice contractor’s profession without required license and obtaining money or property by false pretense, Jan. 24-Feb. 2.

• Jodie Noel Joyce, 23, 143 Berry Hill Court Ext., Martinsville, third offense larceny (shoplifting).
